Saturday - May 17, 2008As an unfortunate consequence of Operation Iraqi Freedom and America’s war on terror, many children of our active-duty military personnel are now members of single-parent families. In most cases, this also means their chances to attend college have greatly diminished. Children of military personnel killed on active duty are en#@*%!led to receive money toward a college education. But it’s not enough. We are raising funds to ensure that higher education will be a reality for these families. All Riders Are Welcome! $10.00 per Player Registration is from 10:00am to 12:30pm Last bike in at 6:00pm Start at VFW / American Legion Bettendorf, Iowa End at American Legion Post 569 Milan, Illinois Breakfast Available from 7:30am until 10:00 am Food Available After the Run The American Legion Riders 2814 State Street Bettendorf, Iowa (563) 271-1694 or (563)529-4922 |

Apparently someone out there is using the name, "Patriot Guard Riders" as part of a phone scam.
The solicitor targets veterans, and asks them to join the Patriot Guard Riders, along with submitting a membership fee. But in reality, the PGR doesn't collect membership fees. Maria Dahlquist, webmaster for the Patriot Guard Riders, is asking anyone who has information about this, or has been contacted by the scammer, to contact her at (316) 522-2000. She's compiling for information for local authorities and the Better Business Bureau |
